The situation isn't so clear-cut for Australia. Lee's elbow injury has ended his series and Hopes remains on the sidelines. Australia's sub-standard bowling effort in Nagpur could bring Moises Henriques and Doug Bollinger into the equation, with Ben Hilfenhaus especially vulnerable having leaked 83 runs on Wednesday. Ponting wasn't happy with the team balance in Nagpur, which could mean a debut for Henriques, probably at the expense of Adam Voges. Graham Manou will replace the injured Paine but won't take his batting position and is likely to slot in at No. 7.
There was some good news for the visitors, though, as wicketkeeper Graham Manou was expected to reach Delhi in time for the game as a replacement for Tim Paine, who broke his finger during the second ODI in Nagpur. "Graham [Manou] will arrive this afternoon. He has some international experience having played a few Test matches and also in Ashes," Ponting said.
While Australia have a replacement opener in Shaun Marsh to fill in for Paine, the absence of Lee is a major blow to a bowling attack that has struggled to contain the Indian batsman, especially during the final overs. In the first ODI in Vadodara, Harbhajan Singh and Praveen Kumar added 84 runs in 9.3 overs for the eighth wicket and, in Nagpur, India plundered 108 off the last ten overs to post 354, the highest total by any team batting first against Australia in an ODI.
Australia: (probable) 1 Shane Watson, 2 Shaun Marsh, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Cameron White, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 Adam Voges/Moises Henriques, 7 Graham Manou (wk), 8 Mitchell Johnson, 9 Nathan Hauritz, 10 Peter Siddle, 11 Ben Hilfenhaus/Doug Bollinger.
India (probable): 1 Sachin Tendulkar, 2 Virender Sehwag, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 MS Dhoni (capt/wk), 6 Suresh Raina, 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Praveen Kumar, 10 Ishant Sharma, 11 Ashish Nehra.

Wedneday's game will be the first one-day international in Nagpur since the new stadium was built on the city's outskirts in Jamtha. It had hosted the deciding Test of the India-Australia series in 2008 but that match was blighted by poor crowds largely due to the inaccessibility of the venue. One-day cricket, however, is a far bigger draw than the five-day version and only the commute, especially back to the city after the match ends at night, could prevent a packed house at the one of India's best stadiums.
India, on the other hand, are likely to be boosted by the return of Yuvraj Singh, who had broken his finger during the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa. Among the several problems India faced in Vadodara - a scattergun bowling attack, a mis-firing top order, and a less-than-electric fielding unit - was inexperience in the middle and lower order. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja are promising emerging talents but fielding both players in the same XI doesn't inspire much confidence. Yuvraj's inclusion will solve that problem.

Australia too have a few questions to answer: Will they give Shaun Marsh, who has had a successful stint in the IPL, an opportunity to open in the first ODI, or will they stick with Tim Paine who did a good job with Shane Watson against England? They might go with Paine at the top and push Marsh down. The middle order will miss the injured injured Michael Clarke, but Clarke has struggled in limited-overs cricket recently: his strike-rate in the 50-over format since the start of 2008 stands at a modest 66.81. However, his skills against spin bowling will be missed.
India will start the first ODI with a bit more hope than they did in the Champions Trophy: Virender Sehwag is back, and immediately the batting line-up looks much more potent. However, Yuvraj Singh is likely to sit out the first ODI due to a finger injury. With Rahul Dravid out, MS Dhoni can easily settle into the Dravid avatar that he has been doing so successfully in recent times: he doesn't hit out as violently as in his early days, and promotes himself when there is a good start so he can anchor the innings and allow the big hitters to express themselves. Expect the Australians to test out Suresh Raina with bouncers; among all the Indian batsmen in the fray, this series will be the biggest for Raina.

Johnson has never batted higher than No. 8 in a one-day international but he said that during the Champions Trophy, he was often preparing to be a potential pinch-hitter. It seems only a matter of time before he will be get a chance to move up the order and take advantage of the one-day fielding restrictions.
"There were times in the one-day series when I padded up early for Powerplays," he said. "It was scary as I had never done it before. It is something I reckon I would enjoy."

Katich said he had no preference about NSW's opponent in the final, which will be decided on Thursday evening when T&T clash with Cape Cobras. "Whoever we play we know it is a tough match," a tired-looked Katich said, having flown to Hyderabad barely hours after the win on Wednesday night. "The only thing is we haven't played the Cobras, so it is going to be a bit of unknown but that applies to both teams."
NSW already have an idea of T&T, after they were flattened by Kieron Pollard's match-turning 15-ball half-century on Sunday. But Katich said he wasn't afraid to run into the only undefeated team in the tournament again. "We were little off in the game against T&T. (But) It came at a good time and it didn't cost us too badly and instead motivated us to make sure we went up a gear in the remaining games and that showed last night."
The only unbeaten team in the Champions League produced another compelling performance oozing with Caribbean flair to knock the Cape Cobras out of the tournament and set up a summit clash against New South Wales. The second semi-final wasn't anywhere near as one-sided as the first, though, and Trinidad & Tobago and the Cobras traded blow for blow, wrestling for the upper hand until Dwayne Bravo's first significant contribution with the bat in the competition turned the contest on a thrilling evening in Hyderabad.

If you had blinked at the start of the Cape Cobras innings in the Champions League so far, you were likely to miss Herschelle Gibbs. His appearances have been fleeting - he's scored 0, 1 and 0 - but both the Trinidad & Tobago and Cape Cobras captains, and the batsman himself, were aware of Gibbs' game-breaking potential in Thursday's semi-final in Hyderabad.
Gibbs had opted out of the Cobras' game against Victoria in Bangalore after a security alert at the Chinnaswamy Stadium postponed the start of the game by 100 minutes. He did not leave the team hotel for personal security but appeared to be in brighter spirits today and was optimistic of having an impact in the semi-final.
Trinidad & Tobago's dream run in the ongoing Champions League Twenty20 is the end product of sustained planning and financial investment in cricket, the country's top sports officials have said. While sport and youth affairs minister Gary Hunt has specifically credited the financial investment by Sports Company of Trinidad & Tobago (SPORTT) and the Tourism Development Company (TDC), cricket board chief Deryck Murray pointed to the role of local tournaments and development programmes.
According to the T&T Express Hunt said that TDC pumped in US$ 100,000 in financial assistance while SPORTT, who had been crucial in planning and development for years, gave the T&T cricket board $14million over the last three years.

New South Wales vs Victorian
NSW, the champions of Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash, were the first team from Group B to secure their passage to the next phase, with points carried forward, to the second round of the competition. They were joined by Victoria, arguably Australia's best Twenty20 side, having won the Big Bash for three consecutive years until this year's final.
Brett Lee, Doug Bollinger, Stuart Clark and Nathan Hauritz share the ball in that order when NSW take the field and, as Eagles, Sussex and Somerset found out, they can be a handful. Victoria have been the form team every year in Australia, but it is NSW who have the edge here by virtue of their top order and international-class bowling attack. Even without Brad Haddin, Michael Clarke and Nathan Bracken, NSW can still field almost an entire XI that has played for Australia.
Both are long-time rivals, being the two most-populated Australian states, and there has always been a "healthy' Melbourne-Sydney rivalry in Australia. In the past, Victorian fans have always been a bit envious of how many NSW players get selected for Australia; in fact, there was an old joke that when you made your debut for NSW, they also handed you a Baggy Green in a brown paper bag. That attitude isn't quite as pronounced - as the presence of Cameron White, now Australia's Twenty20 vice-captain, and Peter Siddle, the ICC's Emerging Player of the Year, will testify to. It all adds to an intriguing all-Australian clash.

Amit Mishra: He was hammered by Ross Taylor and the other Royal Challengers in the previous game but he will be expected to bounce back on the spin-friendly Kotla track. To be fair, the Bangalore game was an aberration, as Mishra has done well most of the time.
The Cobras started the Champions League with a win but that result against Bangalore was due largely to JP Duminy's lone hand. However, they steadily improved and have started to fire as a unit. The fixture against Delhi will serve as match practice ahead of the semi-final, and it is also an opportunity for Herschelle Gibbs to bat himself into form.

T&T will count on this pair to give the innings a push in the middle overs. Ramdin made a run-a-ball 39 to lift the team to 150 against Somerset and Pollard's 14-ball 31 was the most crucial contribution in their win against Deccan. While Ramdin is good at nudging the singles, Pollard can be counted upon for the big hits.
New South Wales look the strongest team of the tournament, on paper, and in their performances so far, they have lived up to that billing. They didn't have the best of conditions at the Feroz Shah Kotla, but their top order showed good application in both games. More importantly, they judged the pitch well and gauged what a good target was. A score of 144 was more than enough for the Eagles, who fell short by 53 runs. They had to work even harder to grind out 130 against Sussex, but for the second game in succession, their bowlers managed to restrict the opposition to a score below 100.

The Eagles have the momentum - crucial in the Twenty20 format - given their remarkable qualifying win. After a limp showing against New South Wales, the Eagles qualified for the league stage in sensational style, knocking out Sussex in a one-over eliminator after their match in Delhi ended in a tie. They are a side shorn of flashy names but showed against Sussex that when push comes to shove they can be a force to reckon with. Their top order - namely Boeta Dippenaar and Morne van Wyk, internationals both whom they rely heavy on - has not been producing starts but their strength has been the ability of their medium-pacers to consistently hit the blockhole during the final overs.
The runners-up in England's Twenty20 Cup now carry forward their county and country's hopes in the competition, and without Trescothick, who amassed 1817 first-class runs at 75.00 in the county season, the going will expectedly get tougher. And first up, is the side responsible for ousting Sussex. Their strengths lie with captain-opener Justin Langer, and a canny seam attack featuring Charl Willoughby, Peter Trego and Alfonso Thomas. The common feature in both their games was a weak performance from the middle order; Somerset lack the presence of an enforcer in the lower-middle order, someone who can seriously do damage towards the latter half of the innings.

Australia vs New Zealand Champions Trophy Final Live,ICC Champions Trophy 2009 Final Live Scores,Aus vs Nz Highlights
Very rarely Australia and New Zealand have reached finals of a major ICC event. Nobody expected New Zealand to reach this far and on the other side Australian team has shown great character in reaching one more final. Cricket lovers will always wonder how Australian team manages to raise the performance bar in a major ICC tournament.
New Zealand, on the other hand, have often been the underdogs in major tournaments, having faltered eight times in the semi-finals of 50-over ICC events. The Black Caps mainly consists of bits-and-pieces players, mainly all-rounders, who have the capability to turn a match on any day, as was witnessed in Grant Elliot's 75-run knock against Pakistan.

Ponting was proud about his team performance in the ICC tournaments. "Australian teams always are when these sort of events come around, and our record in them speaks for itself. I was really encouraged by what I saw from a lot of the younger guys during the One-day series, in which we had a little bit of a glitch against Pakistan, the last half of our batting, but we rectified that very quickly against England. My expectations have always been very high."
A discussion on allrounder Brendon Diamanti has its merits - Neil Broom hasn't had much to do in the tournament - but New Zealand are not likely to tinker with a winning combination. And the way Elliott came through the semi-final, a big worry for them has been taken care of

Their opponents have no such problems. Unlike their famous triumphs, the 1992 World Cup and the World Twenty20 earlier this year, Pakistan have looked solid from the off in South Africa. They have looked more like the Pakistan of the 1999 World Cup. Their bowling attack has appeared the most settled, the most varied, and the most skilful of the lot in this tournament. Their batting is the weak link - it has fluctuated from very good, against India, to circumspect, against Australia and West Indies. If Pakistan lose the toss and are put in at the Wanderers, that passage of play will be New Zealand's best chance of making this a close contest.

Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals after finishing second in Group A, with four points from three matches. They beat West Indies and India before narrowly losing to defending champions Australia in their previous game. "We won a good match against India and I think the match we lost yesterday [against Australia] was the best game of the tournament as it was decided on the last ball," Yousuf said.
