Yuvraj's injury is likely to most affect Dhoni. Of late Dhoni has adopted a more sedate approach and has almost cut out his big shots. Yuvraj's injury is likely to most affect Dhoni. Of late Dhoni has adopted a more sedate approach and has almost cut out his big shots. It could be said that even when Dhoni tried to play big shots during the final overs of ODIs, and in tournaments like the World Twenty20 and IPL, he could not pull them off consistently. However, with Yuvraj in the team, Dhoni could play the anchoring role, which he has done brilliantly. Time and again he promoted himself, especially when India made a good start, to steer the side through the middle overs, allowing Yuvraj to flex his muscles at the end.
Gambhir pulled out on the eve of India's first match after aggravating the injury during a nets session. He was advised 10 days' rest and his withdrawal from the tri-series was more of a precautionary measure, given the recent spate of injuries.

India suffered a setback even before their Champions Trophy campaign began, with Yuvraj Singh fracturing his finger during a practice session in Johannesburg. He has been ruled out for six weeks and, though Virat Kohli will replace him, his absence is likely to alter the roles of some of the main members of the batting line-up.

Vijay has commenced shooting for his 50th film 'Sura' in Kerala. The movie is directed by S P Raajkumar and produced by Sangili Murugan.
Interestingly, it was Sangili Murugan who had produced the actor’s blockbuster 'Kadhalukku Mariyadhai' a decade ago.Raajkumar, who directed a couple of comedy capers ('En Purushan Kuzhandhai Madhiri' and 'Ponmanam') earlier, recently churned out 'Azhagarmalai' starring RK.
Tamannah plays the ladylove of Vijay in the movie which has Vadivelu in it. Manisharma has been roped in to score the music. The movie features Vijay playing the role of a fisherman, according to reliable sources.

Younis also said he was hurting from Pakistan's defeat to India in the 2003 World Cup, and wanted revenge when the teams face off next Saturday in Centurion.
"It hurts. I played that match. We scored 270 and still lost. A score of 250 in these conditions is considered safe," Younis said. "But the way Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag batted, and backed by Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh, we were beaten.
"Indeed, we have lost to India in most of these ICC match-ups except only once. Ab hamara bhi jeetne ka haq banta hai (even we deserve to win now)."

ICC Champions Trophy09 Warmup matches Live
The West Indies' regional limited-over tournament will begin on October 26, it was announced today, but the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is yet to find a sponsor for it. The board is currently searching for one and if it fails it will have to foot the bill for the second season in a row.
The tournament will start in Guyana and will include the West Indies Under-19s, who are gearing up for the World Cup in January next year, the Caribbean Media Corporation reported. The young team was drafted in after the WICB decided to use the competition to help the U-19 players build up for the World Cup in New Zealand.

The first tournament, labelled as a mini World Cup, was staged in Dhaka in October 1998 and raised more than £10 million. The second, in Nairobi, was a commercial success although the crowds stayed away. By the time the 2002 event was held - and there was disquiet as it was so close to the World Cup five months later - the idea of playing in developing nations had been ditched (in fairness, options had already been exhausted) and as revenue-generation was the main raison d'etre, it needed to be in one of the main countries as this allowed the format to be expanded. In 2004 the jamboree moved to England and it became clear the format of group games led to too many meaningless games. By the time the 2006 tournament in India came into view, the event was under fire from some quarters, and at one time there were even hints that India might decline to take part in 2008.

"Every time we lose an important game the word 'chokers' is thrown around," Smith said. "During the last couple of years we have been on an upward curve and the team will improve and grow stronger."
A lack of one-dayers over the past five months is a cause for concern for South Africa but de Villiers wasn't too bothered about the potential rustiness. "Our preparations have been the hardest since I began training with this squad," he said. "We run up to four times every day, attend net sessions, sweat in the gym and work on fitness in the pool.
"Although we have not played much cricket recently, training games helped, and I believe we are professional enough to gear ourselves mentally for this tournament."
